The opening for my show Tales All Told was last Saturday and it was great fun. My son was visiting from China and was able to come. It's at the Bascom Center for the Visual Arts in Highlands, North Carolina so come by if you're in town!
This is the first thing I made in my class here at Penland. Working like this in color is a new thing for me. I carved a Pegasus on the bottom of the bowl.
We are busy throwing pots at the Barn for our local Empty Bowls Event. We are contributing 600 bowls and have about 250 done. Here is the first load out of the kiln. I blew bubbles in the glaze to make the bubble bowl.
My niece came to see me and we made some pots. She made this great face mug and called it Treebeard the Ent. It turned out beautifully. I decided I needed some bowls so I made these. The glazes turned out great!
