Denim weaving

My daughter is going to start weaving so I got out my triangle loom to show her. I haven't used it in about 10 years so I had to relearn everything. I made a couple of pieces with yarn first and then I decided to use the denim scraps I have left over from the denim vessels. I really like the way it turned out. It's really heavy and I think it would make a good rug or place mats. I need to make some more and piece them together.

In the Shop Today

One of Kitty's favorite things - wool

Cam visiting the shop

I'm unraveling a sweater and Kitty is helping. She loves wool. This is the same sweater I used to make the neck warmers.
My daughter and her friend Cam came to visit the Verandah and Boalsburg. Above he is modeling one of the vintage illustration pendants.

New Blanket

Sweater blanket

Yesterday I made this free form wool sweater blanket from the scraps in my scrap bag. It's very soft and warm! I'm trying to decide how I'm going to bind it. It's about 4 x 5 feet.

Carnival Glass

Peacock blue tumblers

Peacock blue tumblers

My sister and I went thrifting yesterday and I found these sweet little carnival glass tumblers. They are a great peacock blue with an iridescent finish and are 4 1/2 inches tall. They would be great wine glasses with purple, blue, or green dishes.

Recycled Denim

Making a braid

I want to make a new denim vessel so I started a new braid. I tie the ends to a stair rail and braid it while walking backwards. When I get to the other side of the dining room I have enough for a vase.

Juicy Fruit

Slipper boots

Slipper boots

These remind me of Juicy Fruit Gum. I made them from a felted wool sweater. I keep making them - they are selling really well in the shop along with the hand warmers.
